In My Mind, Blogs For Bands: Week 5

CKY

C.K.Y. or Camp Kill Yourself, is an American alternative metal band. Based out of West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1997, CKY has released only four albums, the last being in May 2009. You've probably heard of the band many times if your a fan of MTV, or Bam Margera. CKY's drummer Jess, is Bam's brother; therefore, Bam has used CKY in many of his films, and pretty much all of his tv shows. CKY is one of those bands that wont catch on at first. Listen to their material, and see what you think. Whatever your opinion may be, listen again. They have great material. Recently, their bass player, and occasional backing vocalist, Matt Deis announced his departure from the band after the release of Carver City (May, 2009). Leaving the future of the band in question. Hopefully there will be more of a future for CKY, I guess only time will tell.
The Cult

The Cult, also known as, Death Cult, is a British rock band formed in 1983. The band broke up in 1995, and regrouped in 1999, and have been together since. They have nine studio albums, including one that was released just a couple days ago, on September 16, 2010, and according to Ian Astbury (lead vocalist), this may be the last studio album ever released again. In early 2010, they began touring, and have pretty much been keeping busy with that throughout the year, up until the release of the new album. They currently have five members, and have an incredible twenty-one past members. Unfortunatly, we may never hear any new material from this great band. But, with no new music to record, I'm sure they will spend their time touring.
