In My Mind, Blogs For Bands: Week 8

Blink-182

Blink-182. Popular? Yes. However, post break-up, blink-182's hold on people's attention has begun to deteriorate. With 25 million albums sold world-wide, this punk band has nearly become a household name. Formed in the early 90's in San Diego, California, blink-182 has released only five albums, one of which accomplished a multi-platinum achievement. Their mainstream success was from 1999-2004, after that it began to go downhill. The band's break-up shocked millions of fans across the globe, in which we thought it was the end of them. However, in 2009, the band reformed to do a tour. After the huge success, they decided to write a new album, which there is hardly any information about, to this point. Blink-182, will this be the last album? Last string of tours? Or will they carry on like the years before? Only time will tell if this band will be around within the next few years.
The Whigs

THE WHIGS. A garage band, from Athens, Georgia. Forming in 2002, and releasing 3 studio albums. This trio hasn't had the "big break" yet; however, they have toured with a few great bands, and are well on their way. Bands such as The Kooks, and Kings of Leon. Listen to the song above. Like what you hear? Give these guys a chance. They define their genre as "garage rock revival", and needless to say, this trio has a lot to offer those of us entranced by music.
